Hear from professionals, parents, and community members working in the space of education and education equity in Harlem and around the city. The goal of this day-long gathering is to provide information on school entrance processes; the different educational streams and options throughout the city; meet with various school neighborhood school representatives; and to contextualize all of these choices within a broader conversation about what it means to animate our values in the schools we choose for our families.

The day will be broken into 3 parts:
10:30 am-12 pm: Values Based Panel facilitated by Wendy Van Amson exploring the role of each of our values when navigating the NYC school system

12:15 pm-1:30 pm: Share and learn, working lunch facilitated by Wendy Van Amson for community members to debrief the panel and dive deeper into some of the questions it raises

2:30-4:30 pm: School Choice Fair, including representatives from public, independent, charter and Jewish day schools

We’ll also offer follow up workshops on:
-The kindergarten entrance process
-How to be a thoughtful parent leader in your school community once you’ve chosen

Co-sponsored by Schools First NYC. Register online or call 212.865.1215.
