Kids Can Change the World (3rd-5th grade)
Date(s) - Sep 12, 2019 - Dec 19, 2019
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan
In this program, kids will have the opportunity to explore, connect to, and more deeply understand the issues that affect our city and our world. This class will be co-created by the children in it, and the areas of focus will reflect the issues most important to them!
Together, we will choose one or more issues (such as hunger, homelessness, poverty, climate change, immigration, or education) and learn about the history and current events related to the issue(s) and past and current attempts to address them, and explore root causes and new solutions. As a group, participants will meet with change-makers young and old and roll up their own sleeves to start making a real difference in one or more of the issues we look at, through a group project.
The class will be hands-on, age appropriate, and inspiring. Your kids can change the world…you know it, and so do we!
The program will be held on Thursdays, September 12 through December 19. Register online or call 646.505.5708.
