Philosophy of Flatbush Park Day Camp

Flatbush Park Day Camp is a Jewish Day Camp, under the auspices of Flatbush Park Jewish Center, which is operated according to the principles, laws and customs of Orthodox Judaism. All campers at Flatbush Park Day Camp are expected to adhere to these principles and laws while they attend camp, whether on camp grounds or on trips off

camp grounds. Our program is designed to promote sound recreational, educational and religious development of all our campers, regardless of their degree of religious affiliation. At Flatbush Park, we set high standards geared towards providing all our campers with a summer of fun growth, learning and enjoyment, all carried out in a safe environment. The day camp, campers and home must share the same goals. Through mutual concern and cooperation, we can look forward to a successful summer for all.

Programs

Flatbush Park Day Camp has a program that is tailored to meet the needs of your children, ages 3 through 13 (entering grade 8).  Our Pre-school consists of nursery (ages 3-4), pre-kindergarten (ages 4-5) and kindergarten groups (age 5).  Our Day Camp accepts children entering 1st grade through 4th grade (generally ages 6-9), our Senior Division accepts children entering 5th and sixth grade (generally ages 10-11), and our Tweens program is for children entering grades 7 & 8 (generally 11 to 13 years of age).  Each division has its division head to ensure greater hands-on supervision of all counselors and campers.

Health & Safety

Flatbush Park Day Camp has an infirmary staffed full time by a licensed registered nurse (NYS) and a nurse’s assistant, both holding current certification in advanced first aid, CPR for adult, child and infant and RTE (responding to everyone).

In addition, we have arrangements with local physicians (ophthalmologists, pediatricians, internists, orthopedists and surgeons) to bring a camper or staff member for treatment, if the need arises.  In the event our registered nurse determines that additional medical treatment is necessary, we will make every effort to contact the parent/guardian.

Flatbush Park Day Camp is a PEANUT FREE CAMP, no peanut products or products!
