Kate Tempesta’s Urban Golf Academy (UGA) is a unique program that introduces children to the game of golf as early as age four. We use a variety of both traditional and specially designed equipment, (SNAG, Birdie Ball, and Almost Golf ) to focus on skill development while having FUN.

Younger students discover and explore while we introduce the game of golf in an environment that is dynamic and child-centered. Our Early Birdies will cultivate their excitement for the game while developing the necessary physical and golf-specific skills that will enhance their enjoyment of the sport.

We introduce golf fundamentals including:

how to hold a golf club and grip

proper swing posture

proper stance

accurate foot alignment

For older students, our Birdies and Eagles,  we continue to nurture students’ love for golf and delve deeper into key concepts including as pre-shot routine, clubface, scoring, club selection and course management.

Additionally, we include activities and exercises that reinforce and challenge campers’ developing skills.  Students are encouraged to internalize their progress and make connections, as well as develop confidence in what they are doing. Of course we do all of this while maintaining our mantra of FUN.

We offer a variety of programs in NYC parks and private schools, all year long – as well as in the Hamptons during the summer.
