Voted New York Jewish Parenting Guide’s #1 Nutcracker Performance for New York City Families!

The Salvatore Capezio Theater is proud to announce Peridance Contemporary Dance Company’s seasonal production in collaboration with Peridance Capezio Center.

Conceived and choreographed by Artistic Director, Igal Perry, The Nutcracker: A Contemporary Look brings to the stage a unique mixture of your favorite holiday stories, making it an entertaining experience for the entire family.

This dance extravaganza is set to excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s original score as well as new music for an exciting new take on the holiday favorite.  This production features multimedia projections, props, scenery, and a talented cast of over 100 dancers led by the renowned Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and including The Peridance Youth Ensemble, Peridance Certificate Program, and Peridance Core Training Program.

With deep roots in the local community at Union Square, Peridance brings dance to the forefront, enhancing the area’s cultural presence.  This production of The Nutcracker: A Contemporary Look offers to the public a joyful and heart-warming experience for all ages that will mirror the magic and wonder of the upcoming holiday season.

Peridance Capezio Center offers adults dance classes in many styles, including Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Body Conditioning, House, Salsa and African Based, in all levels from absolute beginner to advanced.  Rooted in the Union Square area, in the heart of New York City, Peridance Capezio Center is housed in a beautiful landmark building on 126 East 13th Street, featuring spacious, sprung and column-free studios and the Salvatore Capezio Theater, available for rentals, showcases and performances.  The Center’s robust amenities also include a coffee shop and a Capezio Boutique.

The Center is home to the acclaimed Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and its affiliated Peridance Youth Ensemble.  The School at Peridance offers children and teen dance classes in a nurturing, professional environment.  Peridance and its world-renowned faculty prepare dancers for the continually evolving dance arena through an International F-1 Student Visa Program, a 2-year Certificate Program, and many Intensive and Workshop offerings.
