A fresh twist on the classic story, Peridance’s The Nutcracker features performances by the Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, alongside dancers from the Certificate Program and the School at Peridance’s Core Program. About Peridance Center

Located in the heart of New York City’s Union Square, Peridance Center offers adult dance classes in a variety of styles, including ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap, salsa, house, African-based dance, and more, with levels ranging from beginner to advanced. Housed in a historic landmark building at 126 East 13th Street, Peridance features spacious, column-free studios with sprung floors and the KnJ Theater, available for rentals, performances, and showcases. Peridance Contemporary Dance Company (PCDC) is a repertory company dedicated to creative collaboration, sustainable social engagement, and visionary performance. The company amplifies both emerging and established artistic voices through dynamic programming rooted in care, innovation, and community connection.

Founded in 1983 by Executive and Artistic Director Igal Perry, PCDC has performed at prestigious venues such as the Joyce Theater, Lincoln Center, BAM, and Peridance’s KnJ Theater. Committed to increasing access to contemporary dance, PCDC’s outreach program, Dance Break, has brought modern technique, improvisation, and composition workshops to over 2,000 NYC K–12 public school students in Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx since 2016. Additional educational initiatives include residencies and masterclasses, reflecting PCDC’s mission of inclusivity and support for dancers, choreographers, musicians, and designers.
