At the Grand Prospect Hall, we believe that your wedding ceremony and reception should be a fairy-tale vision come true. You are the princess and prince at this very special event. Your family and friends will be treated like royalty. The hall’s staff will work with you personally to custom-design the perfect dream occasion for the memories of a lifetime. (Take a look at our happy clients’ love letters.) Whether your wedding is small or large, indoors or outdoors, we will match your heart felt desires with an elegant and lavish event. While The Grand Prospect Hall hosts many weddings every year, we believe that each wedding is a unique happening (just as it is for you!), where no detail is too small, and no arrangement beyond possible. Weddings at The Grand Prospect Hall fall into four areas: formal traditional, various themes, traditional ethnic, and traditional religious. Our gourmet cuisine is five-star and we are mindful of any special culinary requests. In addition, we offer ceremony spaces and all necessary arrangements. Most of all we help with aspects that you would often have to pay extra for: clergy; photographers and videographers; florists; music–even ballroom dancing lessons! Think of us as your complete wedding consultant. We want your wedding to be as utterly romantic as Cinderella at the ball with Prince Charming. See what it is to revel like royalty on your most memorable day.

TRADITIONAL FORMAL

The traditional formal wedding at The Grand Prospect Hall is a truly classic one, the stuff of dreams. Imagine yourself in a beautiful white dress with a long train that cascades down a curving marble staircase. You are flanked by two lines of tuxedoed, white-gloved violinists playing classical music. Your guests gasp in delight as they enter the stunning lobby with its vaulted ceilings, gilded cherubs and vivid floral reliefs. During the cocktail hour in The Chopin Room, you and your guests are attended to by a splendid army of black-tie waiters carrying silver trays in butler style. Later, you pass through the magnificent double doors of The Grand Ballroom to enjoy a champagne toast and five-star dining with the same French white-glove service you have enjoyed throughout the evening.

There are silver candelabras on a dais; a strolling violinist, and both a maitre d’ and captain at your constant disposal. Afterward, you and your guests twirl around the Grand Ballroom floor to the strains of a Strauss waltz. This is what they call pure magic.

SPECIAL WEDDING CELEBRATION THEMES

The Grand Prospect Hall has a long history of planning and hosting theme weddings. Perhaps you would like your reception to be like a night at the opera or the ballet. Maybe you envision a 1920s jazz club, a masquerade ball, or a renaissance reception. What about the glamour of a Victorian wedding celebration as a perfect match to your bridal gown. These are only a few of the spectacular receptions that we have created. With our many ballrooms and chambers, plus a full theatrical stage and outdoor plaza and gardens, your imagination is the only limit. Hollywood and New York glossy magazines agree.

Time after time, the Grand Prospect Hall has been the setting for movies (Prizzi’s Honor, Cotton Club); music videos (Foxy Brown, Eve with the Ruff Ryders, Cyndi Lauper); commercials (remember bridal couturier Vera Wang for American Express?); and magazines (Vogue, Life, Time-Out, Modern Bride). In fact, one of the country’s first motion picture companies was based at The Grand Prospect Hall in the early 1900s. With so much theatricality in our veins, we’re sure to put on a show for you and your guests, whatever drama and setting you choose.

TRADITIONAL ETHNIC

Just as Brooklyn is home to almost every nationality, our range of events and the menus we offer are truly global. We have hosted a wide-ranging diversity of wedding ceremonies and receptions and enjoy meeting our clients’ specifications. Indeed, you could say that international events are our specialty. From Albanian to Russian to Caribbean to Asian to Polish to Arabic and so on, the chef and staff can meet any gourmet need. And, of course, both the ceremony/reception and the cuisine are executed with the style and grace appropriate to the loveliness of the setting.

TRADITIONAL RELIGIOUS

The Grand Prospect Hall has served generations of culturally diverse families and boasts a dedicated clientele, particularly for wedding ceremonies and receptions that have specific religious needs. Just read our letters of praise from satisfied customers. For instance, for our Jewish clients, we go beyond merely providing the chupah (although we do that, too!). We have also developed a thorough expertise in kosher and glatt kosher catering. Our glatt kosher kitchen meets all the regulations of dimension, access, storage, and rabbi supervision. In addition, we can provide information on glatt kosher and kosher menu requirements.

Other special services include recommendations for temples and religious organizations, as well as outside caterers. We provided the same degree of service for Muslims, Greek Orthodox and so on.

WEDDING CEREMONIES AND ARRANGEMENTS

Whether you need a chapel or a chupah or any other specific request, we will work with you to create a ceremony that is every bit as lovely as your reception. Maybe you’ve always wanted to marry in a Victorian gazebo–we have one set up on our huge outdoor plaza. A ceremony in the light-flooded Skylight Room is an excellent precursor to a reception in the adjacent magnificent Grand Ballroom. We will also provide recommendations for clergy, decor, videographers, photographers, and whatever aspect of your ceremony that is necessary. Given our extensive experience with a diverse clientele, we can also easily accommodate any traditional cultural or religious requests.
